Holyhead Port will not be reopening for ferry services until at least 15 January 2025, port operators, Stena Line has confirmed.

Swedish ferry company, Stena Line has reached another milestone in the build of its NewMax ships – launching Stena Futura into the water and laying the keel of the second ship, to be named Stena Connecta.

On behalf of Stena Line, Stena RoRo has signed a conversion contract with China Merchants Jinling (Weihai) Shipyard for the installation of an additional cargo deck, increased thruster capacity and preparations for shore power onboard the Stena Foreteller and Stena Forerunner.

Stena Line has confirmed plans to launch a new freight service between Dublin and Birkenhead (Liverpool) starting mid-February 2024.
