RTSS appeals portal closes tomorrow at noon

rish hauliers seeking to challenge a Road Transporters Support Scheme (RTSS) decision have until 12 noon tomorrow, Wednesday, 4 November 2026, to submit their appeal.

The appeals process is open to operators whose applications were refused or who did not receive support for one or more vehicles included in their original application. Applicants must have a valid RTSS Application ID and supporting documentation ready before submitting their case.

The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) is reminding affected operators to review the criteria and complete their submission before the window closes.

Four grounds for appeal

According to the IRHA, appeals can be made on four grounds:

  • Eligibility criteria failures.
  • Multiple Road Transport Operator Licences.
  • Incorrect or incomplete financial information.
  • State Aid and Single Entity issues.

Operators should identify the grounds relevant to their case and provide evidence supporting their challenge.

Supporting evidence is essential

The Department of Transport has stated that appeals submitted without supporting evidence will not be considered. Submitting an appeal does not guarantee success: each case will be assessed on its own merits against the appeals eligibility criteria.

The Department will contact affected applicants directly by email. Operators preparing an appeal should check the correspondence received, review the relevant guidance and ensure they complete their online submission before the noon deadline.

Applicants should also retain a copy of their appeal, supporting documents and any submission confirmation.

Help available from the IRHA

IRHA members who need assistance with the process, or clarification on their eligibility to appeal, should contact the association’s office promptly.

With the portal closing at 12 noon on Wednesday, 4 November, affected operators should act now to ensure their appeal and supporting evidence are submitted in time.
