The Road Transporters Support Scheme (RTSS) appeals deadline has been extended to 12 noon on Friday, 6 November 2026, giving affected hauliers additional time to submit their case.
The updated notice extends the previously announced 4 November deadline. Operators whose applications were refused, or who did not receive support for one or more vehicles included in their original application, may appeal through the online portal.
Applicants must have a valid RTSS Application ID, and every appeal must include supporting evidence.
Supporting evidence essential
The Department of Transport has made clear that it will not consider appeals submitted without supporting evidence.
Operators preparing a submission should review the detailed appeals eligibility criteria and the scheme’s terms and conditions, ensuring that their documentation supports the grounds on which they are appealing.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee a successful outcome. Each case will be assessed on its own merits against the applicable criteria and scheme conditions.
Applicants who received payment for every vehicle included in their original application have no grounds for appeal and should not complete the portal.
No appeal needed for Budget 2027 extension payments
The Department has also clarified that operators do not need to complete the appeals portal to receive additional support under the scheme extension announced in Budget 2027.

The additional payment process is separate from the appeals process. The Department will contact applicants directly when their additional payment has been processed.
This distinction is important for operators awaiting further support: an appeal is for challenging a refusal or the exclusion of vehicles from payment.
What operators should do now
Hauliers intending to appeal should check their original application outcome, have their RTSS Application ID available and gather the evidence relevant to their case.
