The countdown is on to the 271 Truck, Van & Trailer EXPO, which rolls into the RDS, Dublin on Saturday and Sunday, 10-11 October, bringing together an impressive line-up of trucks, trailers and light commercial vehicles.
Staged alongside the Auto Trade EXPO and CV Workshop EXPO at Simmonscourt, the 271 Truck, Van & Trailer EXPO will give visitors the opportunity to get up close to some of the latest commercial vehicles on the Irish market — along with several trucks and trailers guaranteed to attract plenty of attention.
Svempas Scania Special Edition leads truck line-up
One of the undoubted highlights will be the spectacular Svempas Westward Scania Special Edition 50th Anniversary truck.
The special-edition Scania celebrates the legendary Swedish custom-truck designer Svempa Bergendahl and will provide an eye-catching centrepiece to the truck display.
Mercedes-Benz will also have a strong presence, with a display including the Actros, alongside the Sprinter and Vito light commercial vehicles.
Renault Trucks will be represented with a show truck and van, while DAF Trucks is set to bring along a truck from its demonstration fleet.
For operators considering their next vehicle purchase — or simply wanting to see some impressive machinery at close quarters — the outdoor display promises plenty to see.
Strong trailer line-up
Trailer operators and buyers will also be well catered for, with a diverse selection of equipment scheduled to appear.
TC Trailers will showcase a STAS walking floor trailer and a Kässbohrer tipper, while SDC Trailers will exhibit an SDC curtainsider.
Dennison Trailers will bring along a striking Dennison Road Train, while Horizon Trailers will showcase a Kögel refrigerated trailer.
The line-up means visitors will be able to view equipment covering everything from general haulage and temperature-controlled transport to tipping and walking-floor applications.
14 LCV brands already confirmed
The van sector will form a major part of the 271 EXPO, with 14 light commercial vehicle brands already signed up.
The confirmed line-up includes Mercedes-Benz, Farizon, Opel, Citroën, Ford, Renault, Kia, Nissan, Maxus, Isuzu, KGM, Skywell and Ineos, with Renault Trucks also represented in the light commercial vehicle display.
With electrification, alternative powertrains and new manufacturers rapidly changing the LCV market, the display will give fleet operators, tradespeople and commercial vehicle buyers an opportunity to compare a wide range of vehicles in one location.
More than just a vehicle show
The 271 Truck, Van & Trailer EXPO forms part of a huge weekend for Ireland’s automotive and commercial vehicle industries.
Directly alongside it at Simmonscourt will be the CV Workshop EXPO and Auto Trade EXPO, featuring hundreds of stands and a vast range of brands covering commercial vehicle parts, workshop equipment, diagnostics, tyres, tools, lubricants, components and aftermarket services.
The Irish Auto Trade Awards 2027 will also be presented during the EXPO weekend.
For hauliers, fleet operators, workshop owners, technicians, transport managers and anyone involved in the Irish commercial vehicle sector, it promises to be one of the industry’s biggest weekends of the year.
