The Logistics Associate Apprenticeship (LAA) has reached a significant milestone following the outstanding success of apprentice Leigh-Ann Keogh, who became the first Logistics Associate Apprentice to win a medal at the WorldSkills Ireland National Competition 2026, securing a prestigious silver medal in Logistics & Freight Forwarding.
Held at the RDS Dublin from 16–18 September, WorldSkills Ireland is Ireland’s leading skills competition, bringing together talented learners and apprentices from across a range of industries to compete to the highest standards of vocational excellence.
Over three intensive days, participants in the Logistics & Freight Forwarding competition completed a series of technical, operational and problem- solving tasks designed to reflect real-world industry demands.
Representing Pfizer Grange Castle and the Logistics Associate Apprenticeship, delivered in partnership with Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin), Leigh-Ann demonstrated exceptional technical ability, professionalism, resilience and dedication throughout the competition.
Her achievement marks a historic first for the Logistics Associate Apprenticeship and
provides a powerful endorsement of the apprenticeship model, where industry and higher education work together to develop highly skilled professionals for the logistics and supply chain sector.
A Partnership Driving Excellence
Leigh-Ann’s success reflects not only her personal commitment and determination, but also the strong collaboration between Pfizer and TU Dublin. Through the Logistics Associate Apprenticeship, apprentices gain practical industry experience while pursuing a Level 6 Higher Certificate in Logistics, enabling them to apply academic learning directly in the workplace.
