The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) has confirmed that payments under the Toad Transport Support Scheme (RTSS) scheme are now progressing.

Haulage operators have been waiting some time for this positive news, and while there are still outstanding issues to resolve, significant progress is now being made.

✅ The process:

The Department of Transport assess applications and is approving eligible applications for payment. Once assessed, applicants will receive an email confirming the result for each vehicle and the payment amount.

The National Shared Services Office carries out the required tax clearance checks and will contact applicants directly if there is an issue.

Based on previous experience, remittance advice generally follows within 2 to 3 days, and then payment can reach the recipient immediately or within 48 hours, depending on their financial institution.

✅ So far, there are 4 payment runs:

Run 1. Approximately 175 applicants
Licensed hauliers and own-account operators where all vehicles met the eligibility criteria. All applicants in this run have now been paid.

Run 2. Approximately 850 applicants
Licensed hauliers and own-account operators where all vehicles met the eligibility criteria. Payments commenced on 7 July and should now be complete or nearing completion.

Run 3. Approximately 348 applicants
Licensed hauliers only, covering applications with a mix of eligible and ineligible vehicles. The file has been sent to the NSSO, with remittance advices and payments expected later this week.

Run 4. Approximately 580 applicants
Licensed hauliers only, also covering applications with a mix of eligible and ineligible vehicles. The file has been sent to the NSSO, with remittance advices and payments expected later this week.

This represents significant progress on the RTSS scheme and the iIRHA says it will continue to engage with the DoT and Government regarding outstanding issues and remaining applications.
