Goggins Transport, has enhanced its fleet with the addition of 11 new, high-specification Mercedes-Benz Actros ProCabin Big 510hp tractor units, with a further five Actros ProCabin Giga units on order to be delivered this year.
Headquartered in Dublin, the investment is a clear signal of confidence from the Goggins family, underscoring a commitment to the business’s long-term future and forming a key part of Goggins’ strategy focused on driver retention.
Founded by Martin Goggins in 1979, Goggins Transport has grown from a one-person operation into one of Ireland’s leading haulage providers, with operational bases, Dublin, Wexford and Liverpoll. Today, Martin’s son, Tony, leads the company and oversees the UK operations.
“Our father started this business by purchasing his first Mercedes-Benz truck as a driver-owner in Galway,” said Tony Goggins, Managing Director. “Since his passing, our commitment to Goggins’ future is absolute, and this investment is proof of our dedication to serving our customers for years to come. Central to delivering a quality service is driver retention, and our drivers deserve the very best equipment. With these high-spec Actros ProCabins, we are investing heavily in our future while also rewarding our team with a superior working environment that prioritises driver comfort, safety and wellbeing
The Actros ProCabin Big cab variant stands out for its exceptionally spacious and driver-focused cab interior, designed with ergonomics that make long-haul journeys safer and more comfortable. Thanks to its flat floor, the Big offers generous standing height too, combined with ample storage compartments, a wide sleeping bunk, and well-appointed controls.
Like the rest of the Actros ProCabin range, the Big cab is blessed with high-quality tactile materials throughout, offering a more relaxed driver and living environment with lower in-cab noise, while boasting modern digital displays, connectivity and safety features that only Mercedes-Benz trucks are renowned for.
Thanks to the ProCabin’s class-leading exterior design and exceptional ergonomics, overall efficiency is improved too, with lower drag and better fuel consumption as standard; all major factors in Goggins Transport’s decision to continue their long-standing relationship with Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
