A quartet of Scania trucks have achieved a five-star rating in the latest round of Euro NCAP’s Safer Trucks Programme assessment.

Joining Scania’s L-series and P-series trucks, which received Euro NCAP’s top rating earlier this year, are a pair of R-series and G-series trucks in 4×2 tractor and 6×2 rigid forms respectively.

Euro NCAP recognised the R-series for its strong performance in Safe Driving and Collision Avoidance evaluation tests.

The G-series also scored well for its balanced safety performance.

Euro NCAP testers described it as a safe all-rounder when specified with the appropriate safety equipment. Its low cab, deep windows and low belt line support better overall vision for the driver in a variety of driving conditions.

Euro NCAP also awarded the City Safe Award to both the G-series and R-series, which scores features on heavy duty vehicles designed to prevent accidents in urban environments.
