One of the most distinctive trucks on the Irish show scene will be among the star attractions at the 271 Truck & Trailer EXPO at the RDS, Dublin on Saturday and Sunday, 10–11 October, when Westward Scania puts its spectacular Svempas Westward Scania Special Edition on display.
The unique truck has been created to celebrate a major milestone for Westward Scania – 50 years as the official Scania distributor in the Republic of Ireland.
Westward has represented Scania in Ireland since 1976, developing the marque alongside a nationwide dealer network and building a particularly strong following among Irish hauliers, fleet operators and owner-drivers.
The anniversary truck was built by Svempas and Scania for the Irish Scania dealer network specifically to mark Westward Scania’s 50th anniversary.
That Svempas connection makes the truck particularly interesting for Scania enthusiasts. The Swedish custom-truck specialist has become synonymous with spectacular and highly distinctive Scania show trucks, making the Westward anniversary vehicle an appropriate centrepiece for such an important year.
The truck made its Irish premiere during Westward Scania’s sponsorship of the Irish Road Haulage Association Annual Conference in Killarney in September.
Now visitors to the RDS will have another opportunity to see this very special Scania up close.

The Special Edition is more than simply a show truck. It represents five decades of Westward Scania’s involvement in the Irish road transport industry.
From its Strokestown base, Westward Scania has built a strong presence within the Irish commercial vehicle market, supporting operators across long-haul transport, distribution, construction and numerous other sectors through the wider Scania dealer network.
The anniversary truck provides a spectacular visual link between that heritage and the modern Scania brand.
Its appearance at the 271 Truck & Trailer EXPO should therefore prove particularly popular with hauliers, drivers and the large community of Scania enthusiasts expected at the event.

The 271 Truck & Trailer EXPO will be staged outdoors at the entrance to the CV Workshop EXPO and Auto Trade EXPO at RDS Simmonscourt, putting an impressive collection of trucks, trailers and vans directly in front of visitors arriving at the venue.
The outdoor exhibition complements the huge workshop, aftermarket, parts, tools and equipment exhibition taking place inside the RDS, creating a major meeting point for hauliers, fleet operators, transport managers, workshop professionals and commercial vehicle enthusiasts.
