Volvo Trucks has recently upgraded its heavy-duty truck range and as a prelude to 2027’s anniversary celebrations, the company is now making its Volvo FH and Volvo FH16 trucks available in a unique anniversary edition.
Following a series of recent improvements to the electric, diesel and gas powertrains, Volvo Trucks tells us that it is making its flagship FH Aero, FH, FH16 Aero and FH16 trucks available in a brand new special edition, updated both inside and out.
Inside the 100 Year Edition’s cab, Volvo says that upgrades have been made for improved driver comfort and ambience. The seats have been redesigned with a new two-tone concept and created with a premium leather seat base, and an embroidered anniversary motif on the grey textile of the upper half. Tan leather details like a divider have been added in a color which matches striping details on the truck’s paintwork.
Design Director Jonathan Disley says: “The 100-year edition truck is a celebration of what we have achieved so far over the past century, and a very special truck in more ways than one. The interior is both modern and premium, as well as an homage to Volvo’s history. The design was inspired by our Swedish heritage and the professionalism that comes from years of innovation and progress, alongside our customers’ trust and passion.”
The special-edition trucks are also equipped with illuminated doorsteps, alongside LED strips on the console which can be set for either red or white ambient lighting.
“This special edition represents the peak of Volvo’s truck design and manufacture over the past century: the result of 100 years’ worth of continual improvement in safety, quality, driver comfort, productivity, fuel efficiency and emissions saving,” says Jan Hjelmgren, Head of Product Management at Volvo Trucks.
The Volvo 100 Year Edition trucks can be bought in most drivelines and chassis configurations that the Volvo FH Aero, FH16 Aero, FH and FH16 are currently delivered in.
Volvo says that the FH has recently received significant powertrain updates for electric, gas and diesel models – improving performance, range, energy efficiency and power. It has also continually performed well in the Euro NCAP truck safety tests, with several configurations being named as the top-marked trucks in their segments.
The Volvo 100 Year Edition is the latest in a line of special edition models, and It will be available to order from September, 2026.
