Last chance to submit a claim to Road Transporters Support Scheme

The Department of Transport has set up a process to allow licensed haulage operators to submit a late application to the Road Transporters Support Scheme (RTSS)

The application window for the Road Transporters Support Scheme (RTSS) closed at noon on Friday 12 June 2026.

During the application period, 4,406 applications were submitted by licensed road haulage operators, licensed passenger operators and businesses operating in the own account sector.

The Department is now currently assessing those applications and will make payments to successful applicants as soon as possible. Payments were made to approximately 175 applicants on Friday 10 July, and more payments will follow once additional applications have been fully assessed.

The Department says it recognises that there may be exceptional circumstances where a potential beneficiary was unable to submit an application during the publicised application window due to events outside their reasonable control.

For this reason, a process has been established to allow requests for permission to submit a late application.

Requests to submit a late application will be accepted from noon on Monday 20 July until noon Friday 25 July 2026.

Requests will not be considered after this date. Licensed operators are advised toreview the terms and conditions and gather any relevant supporting documentation before submitting a request.

Submitting a request does not guarantee that you will be permitted to make a late application. Each request will be assessed on its own merits, and permission to submit a late application will only be granted in exceptional circumstances where sufficient supporting evidence is provided.
