Finance Minister visits South Coast Logistics

Finance Minister, Paschal Donohoe has visited the Fermoy headquarters of South Coast, as the company celebrates 50 years in business.

The Minister received a full tour of the facility and was briefed on the company’s logistics services and its contribution to the Irish economy over the past five decades.

Founded in 1975, South Coast has grown from a modest transport operation into a leader in Irish logistics.

With 50 years of experience, the company specialises in Chemical, Waste, and Dry Bulk Logistics, along with the development of Inland Port Terminals.

Minister Donohoe praised South Coast’s continued innovation and growth, especially the announcement of a major expansion with a new Inland Port Terminal in Dublin, scheduled for H1 2026. This strategic investment is expected to generate over 30 construction jobs, followed by 60–80 permanent roles over the next five years.

The Minister also acknowledged the strong support from local Fermoy TD Noel McCarthy and Councillor Kay Dawson, who both have tirelessly supported local businesses and the economic benefits they contribute to the region.

Speaking during the visit, Richie O’Flynn, Managing Director of South Coast, stated: “It was a privilege to welcome Minister Donohoe to our Fermoy facility and share South Coast’s journey. Our team has worked tirelessly to reach this point.”

“The Dublin Inland Port Terminal is a major step—not just for us, but for how Ireland moves critical materials. We’re proud to support local jobs and invest in the infrastructure of tomorrow.”

South Coast remains committed to sustainability, innovation, and national growth, continuing its legacy of high-performance logistics solutions while investing in the future of Irish infrastructure and employment.
