Motis Ireland, the one-stop-shop for the European transport sector is reporting that a weather warning in Northern France is disrupting and limiting access to Calais Terminal.
Motis Ireland is reporting that following a meeting with the Regional Prefecture, the two Prefectures of Nord (59) and Pas-de-Calais (62) will prohibit heavy goods vehicle (HGV) traffic tomorrow, Wednesday, in the Hauts-de-France region.
Transport companies are asked to limit, or even prohibit, HGV traffic during the heavy snowfall, expected to begin around 0400 hours local time and last until 2300 hours local time, and affecting access to the Calais – Dover route.
Given the number of HGVs currently required to be shipped to the UK and parked in the storage areas, storage of imported HGVs will be possible but very limited. HGVs with medium cargo capacity (MD) and Class 7 vehicles will not be allowed to pass through or park at the port.
The Operations Centre (COD) at the Prefecture will be operational from 0600 hours and Transport companies are asked to inform the Coordination Centre by 1630 hours of the volume of HGVs being loaded on the Calais โ Dover route.โ
Please be aware that P&O Ferries will not refuse shipment for drivers checking in at P&O Ferries!
