France has opened its first 560 kW public charging point for electric trucks on the Mont-Blanc route, a major cross-border link between France and Italy. The site, developed by Kempower and operated by Sowatt Solutions, is located on the important international freight corridor rather than a depot or pilot environment.
It comes as Alpine routes face increasing pressure from air-quality rules and traffic restrictions.
Capacity remains limited, but the project signals that high-power charging for heavy-duty vehicles is beginning to move onto long-haul routes where it will be most needed
