Stay ahead of regulations with Logistics UK’s transport manager conferences

Anyone responsible for keeping commercial vehicle fleets compliant, safe and efficient is urged to join Logistics UK this autumn for the 25th anniversary of its industry-leading series of Transport Manager conferences. With ten events taking place across the country plus a virtual event, the conferences provide operators with the latest compliance information, guidance on legislation and practical advice on other issues they face.

Last year’s Transport Manager conferences attracted a record number of almost 2,000 delegates and indications are that this year’s programme will be just as popular. Launching at Haynes Motor Museum in Yeovil on 17 September, and moving on to venues around the country, the one-day conferences will give attendees the chance to hear direct from expert speakers including senior industry figures and policy makers – such as the local Traffic Commissioner – on wide-ranging topics affecting the role of the transport manager in 2025 and beyond. There is also the opportunity to attend a virtual conference in November should delegates not be able to attend in person.

Kevin Green, Logistics UK’s Acting Chief Executive and Policy Director said: “This year sees a new programme, full of the latest compliance and legislative advice, industry insights and guidance to help you avoid non-compliance and safely manage your fleet operations in the year to come. With attendance counting towards CPD requirements, attendance is a must for all transport managers.”

The Transport Manager 2025 programme includes:

  • A view from the Traffic Commissioner.
  • Compliance update.
  • Mock Health and Safety Executive (HSE) investigation.
  • Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) key best practice on preventative maintenance.
  • Future of operator licensing.
  • Driver and Vehicle Licence Agency (DVLA) update on industry engagement.
  • Shifting Gears to improve driver health and road safety: The SHIFT programme (Structured Health Intervention For Transport).
  • Crime and theft in commercial transport by the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS)

Logistics UK’s Member Advice Centre (MAC) will provide an essential legislative roundup and technical update highlighting the main topics on the horizon that managers need to be aware of to ensure the safety, compliance and efficiency of their organisation, and MAC advisors will be on hand throughout the day to discuss legislation and compliance issues.
