RSA carries out multi-agency roadside safety checks

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) continues to carry out multi-agency  roadside checks in a bid to improve road safety.

Multi-agency roadside checks are coordinated operations where several enforcement bodies work together to inspect vehicles and drivers, primarily aiming to improve road safety, enforce traffic laws, and combat criminality.

These checkpoints typically feature An Garda Síochána partnering with bodies like the Road Safety Authority (RSA), Revenue Customs, and the Department of Social Protection.

During a recent multi-agency checkpoint, a number of dangerous road behaviours were identified, including:

▪️ Commercial vehicle non-compliance
▪️ Learner drivers driving unaccompanied

The operation was attended by RSA CEO Sam Waide, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration and enforcement to reduce risk on our roads.

Writing on its LinkedIn.co page the RSA says: “These behaviours put lives at risk — not just those behind the wheel, but everyone who shares the road. Slow down. Stay alert. Follow the rules of the road.Because when it comes to road safety, we all have a part to play.”
