The Primeline Group is reflecting on its solar achievements over the past year, which has resulted in a significant reduction in its carbon footprint.
At Primeline Group’s Ashbourne campus, the Group operates on renewable electricity from the grid. That means purchased electricity has a very low carbon footprint.
But in 2025, the Group strengthened its impact further by producing its own energy through on site solar installations.
Here is what it looked like:
2024 solar generation: 208,162 kWh
2025 solar generation: 708,086 kWh
That is a 240% increase in just one year.
Total installed solar capacity across our Ashbourne units: 1.04 MWp
What does 708,086 kWh actually mean?
• Around 200 tonnes of carbon emissions avoided in 2025
• Equivalent to removing more than 100 cars from the road for a full year
• Comparable to the annual carbon absorption of approx 9,000 mature trees
• Enough electricity to power more than 150 homes for an entire year
This matters because there is a real difference between buying renewable electricity and generating renewable electricity on your own rooftops:
On site generation means:
• Greater energy independence
• Lower exposure to energy price volatility
• Direct operational decarbonisation
• Visible infrastructure investment in climate action
