Hannon Transport is set to sponsor Northern Ireland Transplant Games team, as its main corporate sponsor.
The announcement was made at a special reception hosted by Communities Minister Gordon Lyons at Parliament Buildings on the 1st July 2025.
The Transplant Games celebrate remarkable individuals who have received organ transplants and are now enjoying renewed health and vitality. Participants compete across various sports — from athletics and swimming to cycling and team events — showcasing the power of resilience, hope, and life after transplantation.
As the main sponsor, Hannon Transport will provide essential financial support, enabling the team to access top-class training, equipment, travel, accommodation, and sportswear.
This backing ensures that athletes can focus fully on their performance, representing Northern Ireland with pride on the national stage.
Northern Ireland will join 60 nations at the 25th World Transplant Games, taking place in Dresden, Germany, from 17–24 August 2025.
This year’s Games are particularly significant, as Northern Ireland will, for the first time, compete as a standalone member country of the World Transplant Games Federation — a proud moment for both athletes and supporters.
