The former chief of FTA Ireland, has welcomed the publication of Phase 2 of the Government’s Road Safety Strategy.
Former Chief Executive, Aidan Flynn contributed as a member of the Road Safety User Committee during the Phase 1 review.
Writing on Linkedin.com Flynn said: “ A key takeaway from Phase 1 is the need for a more streamlined, high-impact set of actions, and that is what is set out in Phase 2 of the plan which focuses on 12 primary actions that are targeted, collaborative and transformative.”
He added: “These actions, ranging from safer default speed limits and enhanced data sharing to tech-enabled enforcement and lifelong road safety education, are backed by clear targets and shared responsibility across all road safety partners.”He concluded: “The focus on transparency, accountability, and real-world outcomes is a welcome evolution and essential for delivering meaningful, lasting change.”
