Collett Transport has been awarded Most Innovative Product of the Year at the 2025 Logistics UK Awards, recognising the company’s pioneering use of the Blade Adapter trailer within the UK and Ireland wind turbine sector.
The award acknowledges Collett’s role in demonstrating how the Blade Adapter trailer, manufactured by DOLL, can be successfully applied to UK wind turbine transport projects. Through careful planning, detailed transport consulting and experienced delivery teams, Collett has enabled the safe movement of the 80 metre blades, the longest onshore wind turbine blades to be delivered in UK and Ireland history.
“This award reflects how innovation is not just about new equipment, but how it is applied,” said Sam Collett, Director. “By combining the Blade Adapter Trailer with our engineering expertise and operational experience, we have been able to unlock new possibilities for wind turbine transport. This has allowed our clients to deploy larger, more efficient turbines and supports the continued growth of renewable energy infrastructure across the UK and Ireland.”
Collett’s innovative application of the Blade Adapter trailer has overcome the significant challenges associated with transporting record-length blades, including tight road geometry, complex route constraints and demanding site access conditions. The solution has provided greater flexibility, improved safety and reduced risk across some of the most complex wind transport projects undertaken in the region.
By utilising the Blade Adapter Trailer system and pairing advanced equipment with skilled teams and a consultative approach, Collett has made it feasible for turbine manufacturers to supply larger, more efficient wind turbines to projects across the UK and Ireland.
The Logistics UK Awards are widely recognised across the sector, celebrating excellence, innovation and best practice. Winning the Most Innovative Product of the Year award highlights Collett’s commitment to pushing boundaries and delivering forward-thinking transport solutions for the evolving energy market.
This is Collett’s second award of the year, having previously won ‘Team of the Year’ at Motor Transport Awards 2025 in Septmeber.
