Irish hauliers have been advised that changes have been made to the London Lorry Control Scheme (LLCS), which restricts HGV movements to reduce noise at night and weekends in the capital.
Hauliers won’t have to seek permission to use the Silvertown Tunnel and its direct access roads.
Zero-emission, two-axle vehicles up to 20 tonne are now excluded from the scheme (it was up to 18T).
Some roads previously exempt from the scheme are now subject to its restrictions. This is due to changes of land use as former industrial sites have been developed into residential areas.
