As part of the company’s fleet renewal, Hannon Transport is introducing 220 new Scania trucks across its temperature-controlled network, reinforcing its commitment to service quality, sustainability, and operational resilience.
Fittingly, the very first of these new units, a Scania 770S, was handed over to Terence “Budgie” McGeown, Hannon Transport’s longest-serving driver, now in his 28th year behind the wheel.
Terence “Budgie” McGeown is a well-known name across the company’s depots in Ireland and Europe.
Having joined the company in the 1990s, Budgie has seen the evolution of the fleet, the network, and customers requirements — and played a key role in delivering reliable service every step of the way.
Now, nearly three decades later, Budgie becomes the first to take the keys of the Scania 770S — a top-spec, high-performance model reflecting both his experience and Hannon’s ambition.
