Truckers take to streets in protest at spiralling fuel prices

There was severe traffic disruption in Dublin city centre this morning, as hauliers from the south east of the country protested over spiralling fuel prices.

Streets around Leinster House were blocked off by gardaí in advance of the protest, but there was delays on the major approach roads to the Capital, including the M50.

The protest was organised by the Irish Truckers Haulage Association Against Fuel Prices, which is calling for “lower fuel costs at the pump and at home”, and said it wants “lower costs and lower taxes, rebates are no good.”

The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) has dissociated itself from the group which is organised the rolling protest against spiralling fuel prices.
