Haulage operators will be hit with a new tyre waste management levy of up €11 + VAT per tyre under new regulations due to come into force in the coming weeks.

HGVIreland.co has learned that the new Visble Environmental Management Charge (vEMC) will be introduced in the coming weeks by Environment Minister, Denis Naughten.

Industry sources have confirmed that the vEMC will be charged at between €10.50 and €11.00 + VAT at 23 per cent per tyre.

The Visible Environmental Management Charge (vEMC) must be shown on all invoices, credit notes and delivery dockets issued by Producers to Retailers, and Retailers to Consumers, in a similar way that VAT appears on invoices.
