FTA Ireland calls for single occupancy cabins on continental ferry routes

FTA Ireland is calling on ferry operators to offer single occupancy cabins to drivers on continental routes to help prevent the spread of COVID 19.

FTA Ireland General Manager, Aidan Flynn reminded ferry operators that drivers are Essential Workers  and “everything must be done to protect the welfare and health of these Essential Workers.”

He added: “Drivers are consistently the unsung heroes of the Supply Chain. We would be lost without them! It is therefore really important that ferry operators continue to respect this cohort and afford drivers single occupancy cabins on continental routes.”

He continued: “This Covid virus is so transmissible that all safety measures must be considered even if it means reducing capacity for the health and safety of all.”
