FleetWash, the mobile truck washing specialists has reported that its Purifi-Air range of air purification equipment is playing its part in fighting the COVID-19 virus in Wuhan, China.

Sean Kearns of FleetWash commented: “We have an exciting range of products which will help to control the spread of bacteria and virus across your company. AIRsteril technology has been tested against MS-2 coliphage (a surrogate for Norovirus), and achieved significant reductions in counts in both air samples and on surfaces.”

He added: “Our UVC germicidal technology has seen amazing results in the control and spread in both airborne and surface bacteria and virus. These units are being used in the hospital in Wuhan that was built in six weeks. This technology was listed in an Irish Times article showing the ground-breaking use of UVC in the fight against COVID-19. These units will be the future for hospitals and public areas. There is no use of chemicals and no downtime for cleaning. These units run 24/7 meaning you have constant sterile, bacteria and virus free environment.”

Sean says that the use of AIRsteril units in call centres and offices  has been shown to reduce the incidence of illness-related absences; particularly reported cases of colds, coughs and influenza, as well as reducing other chest and respiratory problems.

Some of these units have also been rolled out in ambulances in the UK to help prevent the spread of bacteria amongst the most vulnerable in society.

The Purifi-Air range of air purification equipment can also be applied to the haulage industry. Sean explained: “Due to the nature of the COVID-19 virus and demand on supplies we have decided to give our customers first preference on these units.”

He added: “For cab and vehicle decontamination we recommend the mobile decontamination unit. This unit can kill all airborne and surface bacteria in the vehicle section of the vehicle this is placed.”

He continued: “For office and communal space we would recommend the Multi-Flex range, which can also kill airborne and surface bacteria and virus. These units are ideal for canteens, reception areas and open plan office spaces. The units are recommended for wall installation, however, they do come with legs and a plug for immediate use.”

He concluded: “There is also a range of products for trailer interiors. These will kill all surface and airborne virus and bacteria. You will be able to guarantee all stock being carried by you has been decontaminated in transport with no down time. This will be a game changer in food hygiene transportation and we anticipate this becoming a mandatory feature in the future.”
