The first class of Transport Operations & Commercial Driving apprentices have begun their journey towards becoming an professional commercial driver.
Induction for the first intake of apprentices on the Transport Operations & Commercial Driving Apprenticeship took place in Institute of Technology, Sligo on Friday 30th September 2022.
“Congratulations to all the apprentices and to their employers for supporting the apprentices as they embark on this exciting journey to become qualified professional drivers’” Aidan Flynn, Chair, Transport Operations & Commercial Driving Apprenticeship said.
Key objectives of this apprenticeship is to deliver safe professional HGV Drivers, offer exciting career progression opportunities for apprentices, sow the seed for lifelong learning and support the skills shortage in the haulage, freight, distribution, and logistics sectors by attracting more young people and women into the profession of commercial driving.
