The International Road Transport Union (IRU) h as outlined its priorities on
a number of key issues relating to the EU social rules framework for road transport, including driving and rest time rules, tachograph regulation and enforcement, working time Directive and driver training.
On the occasion of the Seminar on Road Transport organised by IRU Spanish Member Association ASTIC, the President of the IRU’s Commission on Social Affairs, Georges Causse presented the IRU’s priorities.
Addressing the Spanish hauliers, Causse stressed, “the IRU will continue to listen carefully to all its members and to work for a well balanced, well enforced framework of social rules to maintain road safety and fair competition while enabling the road transport industry to deploy its workforce efficiently and with the necessary skills required by the market.”
