The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) is collaborating with CPC.ie to deliver the new “Driver CPC” training for truck drivers.
This enterprising venture will ensure that CIF members will legally comply with the new Driver CPC EU directive for professional truck drivers.
This Directive came into effect for all 27 EU countries on 10th September 2009 and professional truck drivers must attend one day’s training per year.
The first days training must be completed by the 10th September 2020. The training will enhance SAFED – Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving on our roads.
Tony Hynes of CPC.ie explains: “Training focuses on reducing running costs, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of drivers as well as helping to protect the environment.”
Tony says that each training day is 7 hours per module and these modules include: Control of the vehicle and Eco-driving; Managing Risks and Emergencies; Health and Safety for the Professional Driver, tachographs (analogue and digital), Promoting Company Image etc.
Training compliance is based on attendance only and there is no exam, test or assessment involved.
Modules can be taken in any order and CPC.ie will tailor the training to particular requirements, emphasis and needs.
CPC.ie has trained over 10,000 drivers to date. CPC.ie run courses at 30 convenient locations nationwide and the CIF has negotiated a preferred trainer agreement.
Courses are run 364 days per year and you will get additional information if you visit their dedicated website www.cpc.ie.
If you e-mail tony@cpc.ie or ring 066-7185556 you can also receive a free DVD on the course.
