Irish people seem to love Mondays, at least for doing business, according to AA Insurance.
Calls to AA Insurance are 20 to 25 per cent higher on a Monday.
“It’s a very consistent pattern,” says AA Commercial Director John Farrell. “Monday mornings are extremely busy and it carries right through the day. People want to get the job done and out of the way, and they will often use their lunch break.”
“Many people have told their partners over a weekend that they ‘will sort out the insurance this week, I promise’, and then tackle the task with enthusiasm first thing on Monday. There is also a peak in demand on Friday afternoons as the promise is kept at the last minute.”
“We have extra people in place to handle the phones on Mondays, we have to gear up for it,” says John. “A lot of customers do their insurance business online, but there are still a large number that prefer to talk directly to a person so you have to be there for them.”
